Julieta GonzalezJulieta was born in Mexico City and began her vocal studies at the National Conservatory with the Irma González. After moving to Poland she joined the Music Academy in Krakow, where she continued her vocal and musical training under the guidance of Barbara Niewiadomska, obtaining a degree in solo singing.
Her interest in Early Music led her to study at the Early Music Centre (Centre de Musique Ancienne) in Geneva, Switzerland. Initially she studied Baroque singing and Baroque interpretation with Beatice Cramoix, but later, at the same institution, continued her training studying Medieval Music with Francis Biggi and Laurence Brisset.
In Poland and Switzerland, Julieta assisted in several master classes and courses with Andrew King, Emily Tubb (The Consort of Musicke), Laurence Brisset (De Cealis), Jill Feldman, Harry van der Kampf, Marie Leonhardt, Marcel Pérès (Organum), David Eben (Schola Gregoriana Praguensis), Helmuth Rilling (Bach Akademie) and Monique Zanetti.
To broaden her knowledge on early languages, she joined the Latin and Romanic Languages Department at the University of Geneva (Universite de Geneve) assisting in different courses of Ancient Spanish and French, and also Langue d’Oc.
Julieta has performed with several ensembles of early music in Poland, France, Italy, Mexico and Switzerland, including Dekameron (Tadeusz Czechak, conductor), Elyma (Gabriel Garrido, conductor), De Caelis (Laurence Brisset, conductor - Fondation Royaumont,), Psalterion (Gonzalo Martinez, conductor) Sintagma Musicum (Gustavo Delgado, conductor), Flores Harmonie (Alexander Traube, conductor), Ars Nova (Jacek Urbaniak,conductor).
As a soloist Julieta has performed at many different festivals: Festival d’Ambroney, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Òpera-Studio de Genève, Saisons Musicales of the Fondation Royaumont, Festival del Centro Histórico in Mexico City, la Fête de la Musique (Geneva), and others. She has also performed in several concerts with important organists and harpsichord players, including Norbert Petry (Cathedral of Metz, France), Gustavo Delgado (Cathedral of Mexico City), Ofelia Gomez (Sintagma Musicum), Henryk Jan Botor (Poland) and Marek Toporowski (Poland).
Currently, Julieta Gonzalez lives in Wroclaw, Poland. She is member of the vocal ensemble Cantores Minores Wratislavienses and continues singing as a soloist with several other ensembles of early music.
